I want a buffer on the input of my pedalboard to drive the signal through better. I've built a SHO clone and like it as a buffer (gain all the way down) but need it as a boost.

So would I be crazy to build another SHO circuit with no potentiometer (fixed resistor at minimum gain) and no footswitch as an always-on buffer? Or are there better buffer designs?

P.S. I do like the extra "mojo" that the SHO circuit adds as a buffer.
