Transistors??

Ok, you got your soldering iron and nothing is going to hold you back, but you have no clue where to start or what to build. There were others before you with the same questions... read them first.

I have been building this,

Yet I can't find the MPSA18 Transistors.I know there is some on the bay but there a bit pricey. Can anyone recommend a good alternative... In my stash I have MPS2907AG AND 2N2907A. ( I got both of these for this build after I realized I had the wrong ones with MPS2907AG). I also have 2n5088g.

You should check out a few datasheets. The MPSA18 has a hfe of 400-1500 according to it's datasheet. Maybe a 2n5089 would work well as it is between 400-1200.

Musikding sells the MPSA18 btw, and it's only 0.15€ a piece. They have 2n5089 as well @0.12€

Also, keep in mind, the 2n2907 is PNP, not NPN. Devi uses the Tim Escobedo pushpull concept quite often.
