Hey everyone,

I'm fairly new here. I've been reading up on this forum for the past 2-3 months or so. I'm trying to learn all I can about...well, everything, considering I'm brand new to pedal building and don't really know anything about electronics except for the very, very basics. Thanks to you guys, I've completed two builds so far and have really learned a lot over the past few months. Anyway, I assume this is the right place to post this question. If it's not, my apologies!

I took apart an old Peavey graphic EQ last night to see what parts I could snag out of it. I ended up pulling about 20 ICs and have been trying to figure out if I can use them for anything. I found a few JRC072s, which I know I can definitely use. I also found some BA4560s, which, if I understand correctly, are fairly similar to NJM4558s? If that's the case, I'm sure I can definitely use those too. But I also found some RA3678Hs. I have no idea what these guys are. When I googled it, I found that they are cascadable amplifiers. So I guess I really have two questions. My first question is...what the heck is a cascadable amplifier? And the second is...are these applicable to any effects circuits? I don't have a specific circuit in mind; I'm really just wondering what they can be used for in general.

Thanks for the help!

Hi,

I found in the web that that number is an internal part number assigned for Peavey.

But also found the equivalence: RA3678 = BA4560, NE5532

Cheers,
Jose
