Hi,
I tried to make a fuzzface on a perfboard, based on what I could find on those two websites :
http://www.home-wrecker.com/multiface.html
http://geofex.com/Article_Folders/fuzzface/fffram.htm

I put sockets for most of the parts. I got no sound going through the beast.
I wonder if the layout I made has any mistakes. Does someone sees nonsense in it ? (I'll burn a candle for him / them)

Thanks !!

here it is :

What transistors did you use? And what's that component marked 'XXX' - is it a resistor?

Hi,
the transistors I used were BC548C for Q1 and 2N2907A for Q2

the XXX is just a jumper on sockets for yet, but I'll try with a resistor
thanks

Hmmm, 2N2907A is a PNP transistor, whereas your circuit is designed for NPN's.

Thanks mysticwhiskey, that's great, I just hadn't checked that before to plug it...
It's working now, sound is going through, and I have fuzz.

I have issues now with the 5K fuzz pot... Aaargh, it's one of my first circuit, and I just feel it now.
Does anything seem wrong in the layout ?
thx

Actually I plugged the fuzz pot according to the multiface layout
http://www.home-wrecker.com/multiface-perf.png
I'll try with the geofex one (Lug 1 on the ground, Lug 2 on the filter cap, Lug 3 on the emitter of Q2)...
I'll tell you next days, when I could have done this big work

So it's working now. For who wants to try tweaking with the basic npn silicon fuzz face, the layout is good as follow

Lots of long hours to play, till the last sunburst...
Enjoy !
