GGG Red Llama debugging

Postby GalliaEst » 17 Apr 2012, 01:47

Going to post pictures when I have time. Posting this so there will hopefully a reference for others with a similar problem.

I've wired and rewired everything according to the layout, the LED lights when I hit the switch, but there is absolutely no sound. This is my first build. The soldering is pretty sloppy but there are no wires/leads touching anything they shouldn't be touching.

I have a suspicion that my IC isn't socketed properly. It's extremely easy to pop right out, but I can't seem to get it in any further than it already is. Could this be it?

Yup that was it.

I guess this can be a lesson for myself and other first time builders. I rewired this thing multiple times before even noticing the IC was popping out.
