Old thread, but why are there two 1N4001 diodes? They look like they could be in parallel, too. What could they be there for?

Well they come off the V+ pin, so at least one is polarity protection.

One for reverse polarity protection and one for over-voltage protection?

Look in the "Purple plexi" tread page 6.

Going to sell my American Edition so I think this is the last time I'm able to make the gutshots.

Ask me anything while I still have it.

what are you looking to sell it for?

If i had to take a wild guess at the circuit, given the 1 dual opamp I would say we have an standard amplifier with 4x 4148/914 feedback diodes, 1N4001 to ground on a switch, then a James/Baxandall-style Active EQ (other half of opamp) with a mid control.

The Baxandall style EQ seems to be a fave over a Catalinbread. Just opened up my V1 this morning for the first time since I've had it (nearly 4 years). I noticed my chip was socket mounted, so I spent the morning swapping ICs. FWIW I really dug the Texas Instruments RC4558 and the ever popular Burr Brown over the TL072

@Zoom: The link to mediafire is dead. Please upload all your pictures here!
Funny that noone managed to retrace a simple diode clipping cicuit in for years... :blackeye

It might be similar to the Nobels ODR-S, but simplified: http://www.experimentalistsanonymous.co ... 0ODR-S.pdf

I don't think I made a good job of taking the pics. Sorry guys, didn't want to desolder anything.

So here in 2018, we still have nothing on this one?

Just in case no one was using the link. Wish i knew how to trace it myself
