I do not have my files with me, but the schematic was taken from the same schematic in this forum. I think it is on the second page. It is a pdf from Soulsonic.

is this verified?
yes, it's verified....not by me, but from a guy who built it some time ago...for the values you can look at the pdf that you find on the topic. I also have a master file for making the PCB.

in my layout there is an IC...it's just a LT1054 for the charge pump...for the 18V...but if you don't need it you can omit all the charge pump session!

Is it possible to use a MAX1044 as a charge pump or the needs for current is beyond what it can take?

This was made for me by a friend. It's got a bit less gain than the original. Any mods to make it ganier?

Hi

Question about the schematic for this build - the original Okko Diablo+ pedals have 6 knobs, with 2 internal presets. See guts below. However the schem on page 1 shows 11 pots!!??

Has any artistic license been taken with the project?

no, only the pots with the arrows are external pots. The smaller ones labelled gain+, bass+, tone+, level+, presence, and bass are internal trim pots.
Seems to be still a difference. no idea why there are 6 trim pots with the schematic when there are only 2 in the real thing.

i traced the "+"-version with additional booster ("more"-circuit).
for the normal-version, just build the "rock"-circuit.

hey kusi,

i appreciate it! that's what ryanuk posted a gutshot of, but on the gutshot you see there are only 2 internal trimpots (instead of 6 on the schematic), did you just include that for more tonal options or does the original indeed have 6 trimpots which we cannot see? maybe under the goop? :hmmm:

cheers

hi,
ryanuk`s gutshot is form the basic-verison without the booster, just the "rock"-circuit.
in this version there are only two trimm-pots, presecne and bass.

looks like heiko (mr. okko) changed some things in the newer pedals.

From his FAQ:
"Does the Diablo Gain+ have more gain than the "standard" Diablo?
No. Activating the "+" mode has the same effect as turning up the gain control. If the gain control is already on maximum, the "+" doesn’t increase the gain anymore."

the old gain+ version had an additional booster after the normal circuit, the newer gain+-controll looks just like serial-resistance with the gain pot.

but why he continue with gooping his pedals? ;) a waste of money and time!

regards, khe

hmm apparently there is also a diablo boost+ as mentioned on Gregor Hilden's Website. It features a boost after the diablo stage, and has internal trim pots for bass treble and gain. Maybe there is the difference?

Exactly! There are 3 versions of Diablo:
1. standard
2. Gain+
3. Boost+

2. Gain+ is the version which guts have been show in this thread recently (BTW it's the picture of my Diablo :))
It doesn't have a gain boost per se, it's just more like a second gain setting.
This version has only 2 internal trimmers: bass and presence.

3. This Boost+ version has separate boost circiut and more trimmers inside.
