Okko - Diablo Boost+ (goop pics!!) [traced]

Thank you Sikor for clarification.
i got confused assuming the gain+ and boost+ are the same thing. I just now realised this whole thread is indeed about the boost+ not the gain+
i wonder if the boost section is anything worth building by itself
cheers

Both layouts are based on the schematic somewhere in this thread. The "main board" is verified. Reportedly the boost doesn't work quite right, but I'm not sure whether that's due to the layout or the schematic.

I breadboarded the boost stage (according to the schematic on first page of tread from Soulsonic), and works. Very nice little boost, with lots of adjustments. Have not had time to ook at vero layout.
Thanks

Hi, guys. I was wondering if these pedals were built with a boost because they arent very loud?
I just built this (without the boost so far) and found it not very loud. Maybe someone who built this can answer my question.
Maybe i got something wrong somewhere? thanks

i built this one before.. it is loud enough for me.. check your connection.. there are short connection somewhere on your build.joeboo88 wrote:Hi, guys. I was wondering if these pedals were built with a boost because they arent very loud?

Hey quaternotetriplet : thanks, I didnt really try debugging yet as everything on it work, but you proved the pedal is loud so i guess i'll have to fart with it

Unity gain is placed lower than 12 o'clock on the level knob.

Thanks for the reply guys, ive been to busy to look at it but i'll do it this weekend...It is probably pilot error (me)..

Ok it helps if you do a parts count b4 starting and after you build. i missed a resistor and now the thing works.
Thanks guys again for the vero layout.

Hi, i dont know if anyone cares but the boost layout works. (was in question whether it was verified or not)
I just hardwired it to my pedal and it works fine. now just need to install a switch..

so please someone guide me to do the gain+ version - shall I use the vero on the previous page?! How to wire a DPDT and the two gain pots!? THX

Hey Renegadrian, i used the vero's on the last page and the build went good. (sounds friggin awesome)
The gain for the boost is pretty easy. there is an explanation on the boost vero.
Lug 3 of the gain pot goes to the vero, lug of the gain pot 2 is going to the dpdt switch and the other switch end goes to the output jack. Lug 1 of the gain pot goes to ground.
Input from boost board goes to the switch and the other end from switch goes to the lug 2 of the volume pot.
I wired a dpdt boost footswitch seperating the input(s) and the output(s) and have the last 2 poles of the dpdt jumpered.
This method you cant use a LED for the boost unless you use a 3dpdt switch. (As far as i know, unless there is a way and i just dont know about it...Probably)
If this is confusing, i can take photo of my build, which is just laying naked, as i have been too busy to stick it in a box just yet.

Thank you for your kind reply but I guess you misunderstood my question.
I was asking about the GAIN+ which is the version with two selectable gain pots.
The one you were writing about is the BOOST+ which has an extra board engaged by the second switch.

its just an okko diablo with switchable gain pot.. IMO based on youtube videos I have watched.grrrunge wrote:I would love to see the gain+ addon as well!

I'm not quite convinced about that since i read this: http://www.stompbox.de/okkodiablomanual.pdfquaternotetriplet wrote:its just an okko diablo with switchable gain pot.. IMO based on youtube videos I have watched.grrrunge wrote:I would love to see the gain+ addon as well!
OKKO Diablo Gain+ manual wrote:+ (DIABLO GAIN+ only)
controls the 2nd gain level. This control works in addition to the GAIN control. If the gain is already set to maximum, the „+” doesnʼt add distortion anymore, just a slight fattening of the sound.+ (DIABLO GAIN+ only)
