For those willing to verify the layout. Here's an updated layout as per a friend's suggestion. A minor change on a jumper. Paper size is A4. Print without page scaling.

I'm back in town from holiday and will have a chance to look your file over on Monday, bluetube.

I guess I could have shipped it to chicago mike while I was gone... in retrospect... :D

Thanks Matt. Niki filled in some of the blanks. :thumbsup It would be nice if you can go through those four resistors. Me being OC I guess. No rush bro. :D

Mike are you bringing DIY stuff along with you during the cruise? If inspiration strikes I might just prototype this for confirmation. Either that or I'm going to pester a friend to do it for me.

How did they calculate 10khz for the treble in this E.W.S circuit?

Did you ever have a chance to try the new version? I want to start a new project and since I've been playing bass in a band for the past few months, I figured I'd try to build a bass pedal.

i am currently testing this project, source resistor of BS170 is 10K,you can see it in the photos, this way you get a buffer.
last parallel resistor on volume should be 270K,i used 220k.
mid shift switch isn't much effective,i'd like to try other solutions.
Final test in the next days with a proper 18V supply, now i'm having problems with an LT1054 doubler.
cheers

Alex, please let me know how it turns out. I'm *this* close to just buying the pedal...

its a good preamp, especially if you play passive bass.
Its not difficult to do,not expensive, sounds good and clean.
My next move will be to try to incorporate a parametric shifting mid control like the BMC,that would make it super versatile.

i just found that bypassing the 2.4k in series with the mid capacitor (47 or 100n) will give 2 higher band values, similar to those declared for the Xotic basses,i'm going to test this soon.

even more, new version of the Xotic onboard pre has a treble shifting from 6 to 12Khz.
that can be accomplished lowering the treble wiper resistor, there are 2 values in the photos,1k and 1.8k.
i'd go for 1.8k for 6khz and 470r for 12khz.
extra slap!
I will report after further testing with scope.

I wouldn't mind finding out how to change the lows to 40, highs to 4k. :-)
