Whats the deal with the pot pins sticking half-way throught the back of the PCB?

Couldn't they have used the SHORTER stand-off lengths

And what is the real value of the capacitor going to the central lug of the fuzz pot?
in the first draw is 221 but in the other two schematics is 224

The cap is 220pf for sure. It's in the feedback loop of an op-amp, so 220nF is far too high. I've built it with 220nF and I had no fuzz.

If I wanted remove the fuzz and the modulation and just have the echo and the feedback, such as the Micro dream Pedal by death by audio, which parts of the circuit would I remove to do so?

Most of the Echo Dream's character comes from the fuzz and modulation circuit.
If you're not sure which parts are the fuzz and modulation, you probably shouldn't try messing around with the circuit right now.
