That 820R still doesn't look right, it is now in parallel with the 10k. Maybe it should be in series with the 2u2.

I agree, I had a look and the way it's shown in the schematic means that the capacitor is effectively shorted out by the 820 Ohm resistor, I have a feeling that the 820 Ohm resistor should really be connected between the cap's + terminal and the source of the Fet where it connects to the 10k resistor......

Brainfade when I wrote my notes down.
The 10k should be 820r, there's no other resistors connected to the source.
I'm surprised no one noticed the extra resistor.
BTW the 33K is the CLR. That thing must be really bright.

Added a power filter cap, series polarity protection and pulldown for the input..

can be used 2N5457?
Hello
I want to congratulate the people involved in the schematic design and layout, of the Sabbra Cadabra.
It was a great job.
I would like to make a note here:
In this schematic is missing the 1M resistor between the 100n capacitor and 33k resistor, near the gate of the first FET (Q1 on board). This resistor is what makes the polarization of the FET. This component appears in the schematic drawn by hand.
Another detail is that the terminals 1 and 2 of the Presence potentiometer, on the board, appear connected.
These two differences occur in the schematic and layout
I hope I helped.
Cheers

Updated layout... Fix for the 1M is kinda crude, but it should work.

Are there any other FETs that would work? I only have some 2n5457s on hand...
I suppose I need to buy the correct FETs for this one!
Nice layout!

It worked on the breadboard with 2N5457s for me, can't say whether it sounds the same as the original though.

Someone at our blog built the layout and it's working. Consider it verified.

Power filtering is in the layout (has been there all along). I drew it as 100µ since it was missing from the schematic. Use 47µ if you wish.mirosol wrote:Added a power filter cap, series polarity protection and pulldown for the input..

I took a crack at this one with diptrace based off of the latest schematic,
Hopefully this is a working layout and thought I would share this PCB -
I am unable to order this project as of yet but will in the near future.
I am not that good at layouts but thought I would give back to this fantastic site! Fill free to point out any errors, I can take it!

I added the 47uF and diode for protection.

For those who like perf or to etch at home, here's my layout. If you want to use onboard pots, mount them from the solder-side of the board (gain and presence controls are oriented 180º from the range and volume controls).
