I think this pedal is great and sounds very good.

I have built a Laney Supergroup pedal and also a Naga Viper.
If I put the Naga Viper before the Laney Supergroup, then I get very close sounding like the Sabbra Cadabra.

Dr Bertson it was a JFet Supergroup? Does you have the schematics?

Cheers

Hello Mboratto!

Yes I coverted the Laney Supergroup Amp from tubes to JFETs and the sound is very close to the real thing.
I will see if I have the layout somewhere, or you can search on the Web for laney supergroup amp and the Catalinbread Naga Viper.

Thank you again Mr. Bertson!

Just a newbie question: can i use all the same values for resistors and capacitors, and just replace the Tubes for the Fets?
What the values for the power supply?

Heloo Mboratto!

I used the same values, but not R14 and the capacitor on the power line, I used a 100uF.
I replaced the resistors to the plates of the tubes with variable resistors, this is for that you can adjust the voltage of the drains of the transistors, start to adjust the voltage with the half of the power supply voltage (approx. 4.5V), and then adjust after how you want the circuit to sound.
For the power supply, I used a 9V battery, you can also use a charge pump to get 18V for more headroom, but then you have to adjust the variable resistors again.

Hope that you will get this pedal sounding good.

Dr B

from official description
A custom-tuned Rangemaster-based booster combined with the pre-amp section of a Laney Supergroup
from RunOffGroove "FET treble booster similar to the well-known Dallas Rangemaster", that has Range pot with similar effect

imho looks like first stage

I'll be posting a hand drawn schematic tomorrow, letting Juansolo check it for anything stupid before i do.

Schematic by Cleggy (Marauder). Looks pretty sweet to me, but give it a once over to see if it makes sense.

Added the missing 1M to the parts pic.

Interesting... Appears to be connected to the plus of that 2.2u cap. Will give it a probe tomorrow.

From the pic (can't verify tonight) it appears to go to ground.

Deffo a missing bit though! Well spotted, I totally missed that.

Thanks marm, would you mind adding the pot values and types to the schematic?
