Anybody want to talk about copyright infringement?
Coca-Cola could sue and would win, I'm absolutely convinced. And they've got a bunch of lawyers waiting to eat guys like these alive...
Anyway, some of you might have read it already:
As people remarked the description of the circuit and the controls don't match. Don't they? BSIAB has only three controls, plus and internal bias trimpotjakenold -- Boutique effects = DIY projects on: Today at 02:13:49 PM »
I just opened up my buddy's MG "The Drive" and discovered that inside of it was a J.D. Sleep BSAIB-PCB (with JD's name on it and everything). Does anyone know of such a deal, or has MG ripped off the GGG design?
From my point of view, this seems quite worrying. Of course, I might not know the whole story.
Kind regards, Jake
- MG The Drive:
The Drive is a combination of a TS9 with a silicon fuzz sound, giving you endless variations of tones between the 4 knobs and the mini-toggle switch, from an early 70's fuzz to a creamy tube sound.
Controls:
VOLUME: Controls the output of the pedal
TONE: Bass and treble attenuation
BIAS: Acts with the tone as a "presence" control. Also attenuates the overall volume. When used with the "GAIN" knob in inverted positions you can get an out-of-phase pickup tone. Use your imagination!
GAIN: Saturation!!
MINI TOGGLE SWITCH: Light - humbuckers; Diet - High gain guitars; Classic - Single Coils
Each The Drive pedal is hand-made in Brazil by MG and features:
Hand-finished Case
Alpha Pots
True Bypass Switching
LED Indicator
AC Adapter Jack (standard 9v negative-center - adapter not included)
Metal Film Caps
Switchcraft jacks
Vintage transistors

What is being said about certain online pcb layouts, that you're only allowed to use it three times, is absolute nonsense. If you buy pcbs from ggg or tonepad, you can use them in boxes to sell them. If you make your own pcbs from the layout and sell boxes from them is not legal. They could sue... but will they?
If you want to make money at least take the trouble of doing your own layout I would say. Then again if you don't know AC from DC.... I'm not surprised your boasting about alpha posts
Ed, all and all I'm sad to see this happening - if it is the BSIAB indeed.
