"Just when you thought you had seen the strangest name for a stompbox, EMMA offers up the Reezafratzitz! Like it's unconventional handle, the RF-1 is a unique type of OD/Distortion unit that stands out in an extremely crowded playing field. The RF-1 offers incredibly rich, full-bodied crunch that is so close to tube-amp overdrive that you''d be hard pressed to choose which was which. The secret to the RF-1's amazing tone lies in it's Bias control. This knob allows the user to morph between Class B and Class A biasing, altering the harmonic structure of the signal and providing a much wider variety of tonal options than your standard distortion. In Class B mode, the RF-1 exhibits a thick, chunky grind similar to a Marshall or Fender amp. Class A mode provides sweet, singing saturation worthy of the finest Vox AC30. Additional controls for Level, Gain, and a Hi Boost/Hi Cut Tone circuit allow the user to fine tune the RF-1 to taste. When you're ready to set trends rather than follow them, the Reezafratzitz will provide the audio inspiration you need to set yourself apart!"

Maybe ClausH knows more about this.

The bias control is a pot with a series R in the bias divider. The circuit is based on the tube sound fuzz with an added BJT inputbuffer and a tone control.

WOW,thats no thin line between marshall and fender is it!
marshall and fender couldnt be more different amps so how does this explanation make any sense? it doesnt!

i dont know anything about emma effects but after a statement like the above i'm gonna have to find out!

Unless it is the Fender tweed bassman and Marshall JTM45 they are refering to  . Certainly some similarities there at least

Maybe what they have in common is they're both amps!!
I always thought of a Vox as a cross between a Marshall and a Fender. :?

I always thought it sounded like a red llama, makes sense. I would love to see a scheme.

I've read somewhere that it's a modded red llama or craig anderton tube sound fuzz, but I've never seen a schem anywhere...
would be interesting to see one. that bias knob is intriguing...

i tried one a few years ago... i seem to recall it having a lot more gain than a TSF clone... and it didnt really sound like one either.

The bias control is a pot with a series R in the bias divider. The circuit is based on the tube sound fuzz with an added BJT inputbuffer and a tone control.
So this shoul be easy enough a 100ohm resistor in series with a 1K pot shoud do nicely and as far as
an added BJT inputbuffer and a tone control.
thats pretty simle stuff as well.

A great friend of the forum contributed a case of hardcore degooping.

Enjoy that bunch of goop, and check back for the other side!
