Ahhhh...the smell of burnt epoxy....mmmmmm.....hack hack hack argggggg!!!
(cough) (cough)
So the "bias" is just "starving the drain"(?) Verrrry interesting (sounds like Sgt Shultz)
Basic tone control....
Maybe another TONEcontrol at/in place of R4 ?
AWESOME WORK MODMAN !
Now go get a bottle of Oxygen
Make that a LARGE

awesome work Modman!!! Let's tweak it for more mids...

One mod to it would be to add an output buffer. Inverters have quite high output impedance, may be an issue driving low impedance inputs. How I found out? Millenium bypass wasn't working with it...

check this modded Emma... seems it's pretty easy to mod for more mids...

I build this one, and i must say this is the best amplike sounding overdrive i played in a long time, the feel is very tube and cleaning up very well on my strat wich has a 150pf cap on the vol pot. The only thing i had to alter was c10 and r14 into 10n and 39k because on the neck pu it was sounding to muddy.Maybe there is a mistake on the schematic,i played on a original that did not have this problem.I used a bc550c as input buffer and build 2 footswiches in the box, one for a extra gain control and the other as true bypass.Has anyone build this one yet?

what is part name of IC1?
According to what is printed on the schematic -
"IC1 is unknown, probably a CD4069 or 74HCU04"

That actually looks like a pretty nice circuit. I think the "bias" control would more appropriately be called "symmetry" but whatever...
Add that and an output buffer and I would give that circuit my stamp of approval. Oh and cease and desist with the epoxy crap.

Nice clip, what speaker/amp did you use?, I build one to ,sound was good but there is no smooth transition from clean to drive and back on mine.
