Which of these is correct?

I was thinking of breadboarding this one:

Shall I put a zener between G and S of the BS170?

I found many other circuits. I will study them - however, there seems to be many differences between them.

The most recent one does not have the two diodes, but a zener b/w source and gate. The output resistor should be 47k instead of 100k. I've built both and couldn't tell much difference between them.
