thanks for doing this :) Another great contribution :!:

Here's some from me, it adds nothing, but shows more plastic ;)

Almost looks like the PCB were frozen in carbonite by the Empire in Cloud City.

I can't wait this pedal to get degooped and traced. I almost started to build honey bee but this one sounds way better to my ears at least in youtube clips so i bet it's gonna be worth waiting

fuckyourmom wrote:Here's the continuity check map. Hope not too many of you are color blind... I don't have continuity on one side of R13 to anywhere and same with one side of C13. I think R13 may connect to pin 7 of the op amp. And C13 to pin 5 of the op amp. Around the opamp is where my least careful degooping was. Any more educated guesses? I'll have to remove enough goop on the top to find the traces for these two. Otherwise someone should be able to draw a schematic from this!
C13 seems to have 2 traces going to and from on the top..
It comes off pin 1 of the opamp, so this fits the other RAT based designs.. a 1uf from pin 1 continuing to the rest of the circuit.. no doubt to a resistor and then a pair of clippers to ground.

Contribution...

Here's a preliminary schematic based on all photos posted by ibodog2 so far.

Hope this helps.

C13's cathode (-) and one end of R13 are shown floating. When their connections are verified I'll update the schematic.

Regards,

Steve

I suppose people aren't just "hearing with their eyes" when they say the SHOD doesn't sound like a Honey Bee.
fuckyourmom wrote:Got to say I don't understand what might be happening after the 1st opamp.
Yeah, it's definitely an interesting setup. Some signal is getting passed on to the second op amp and half of that signal (waveform) is clipped in the feedback loop (with no added gain), and some of the signal goes around and is filtered and clipped to ground.

But hey, we're always bitching we want to see something different, and here it is.

I think there's still a ways to go with this schematic..

Anything jump out at you as being nonsensical right away? I mean besides missing all of the resistor values and not finding a definitive place for R13 and C13.

I think next I'll do some resistor measurements in-circuit to get some value estimates. Then grab their values from any markings that are seen through the goop. I've got replacement opamps coming in this week so I might just snip the one that's there out of the circuit. After that I'll have to start lifting other components from the board or take the rest of the summer to pick off every little bit of black rubber that's sticking to everything.
I can't see your schematic anymore, so can't have a good look, but first thing I'd say is I have doubts about D5.

fuckyourmom wrote:I'll repost a corrected schematic with C13 connecting to R13 soon. Makes it look a lot more rat-ish. But the continuity check on the DMM says D5 is right in the feedback loop of the 2nd half of the opamp.
Do you have a diode function on your DMM ?.. if so, try checking those 2 pins in both directions.

I've deleted my schematic as well since it contained errors.

Hopefully a finished correct one will be posted once the resistor values have been worked out.
