Had a look at that second link, lots of good info there, but it makes me wonder why Yamaha make the CS15D service manual so hard to get, I have a CS15D Synthesizer that needs some TLC, and I haven't been able to find a service manual that's free to download, the closest I came was eBay, but they quoted a price of $39.00 or so for it... :hmmm:

Which makes me wondering,
As far as I know you are looking for this for quite some times. Furthermore, with a quick search, these units are worth repairing since they do have a decent price tag. Not excessive but still the thing looks like a serious fun toy when working

In my book, when spending so much time on sourcing service data it might save quite some of that time giving up on that free download and spend that 39 dollars.

OK, this is 39 dollars. That's a couple of days home cooking worth and something to think about. However I am amazed often how people spend hours finding documentation for free instead of spending 10 dollars and have what's you're looking for. Better invest those hours delivering groceries for your local supemarket. Better investment of those hours. Those 10 dollars are one day of home cooking but the investment will last a lifetime.

I've said it before and now again. The ADA flanger clone project on DIYstomsps involved a redesign of the MN3010 based model to a SAD1024 model. The SAD1024 was used in the first version of the ADA flanger so why redesign if you can get the real thing? Get the schem of the original! For an odd reason that 5 dollar (at the time, it's free now) option at ADAdepot.com was never used. While it gave all other ADA technical documentation for free as side deliverable. Huh!?

I've send PM's a couple of times to forumites here who were looking for some stuff that was only for sale which I was interested in too offering to share costs. All offers accepted were well worth the halved investment.

Bottom line,
Sometimes it pais off to spend some money to get the thing one desires. TANSTAAFL (The Aint No Such Thing As A Free Lunch)

That's true Dirk, there is one other place I could try for a CS15D Service Manual, a website called Mark Ginsky's Manual Manor, or something like that....cheers anyway mate... :thumbsup

One thing I've noticed about my CS15D is that the scale-tracking of the two channels (the CS15D is a dual-channel Analog Synthesizer) is pretty bad, I know that's to be expected with a Synth that uses the Hz/Volt standard rather than the Volt/Octave standard, I had always had a hard time getting both the channels to play in tune with each other, also synthesizers using the Hz/Volt standard are supposed to have better tuning stability than those using the Volt/Octave standard, hence the reason why I think it needs some TLC work done on it, another issue with my CS15D is that some of the presets on Channel 1 have an unpleasant distortion, when I first bought the synth the presets didn't have the distortion, so I'm thinking that there's some obscure electronic fault causing it, I've tried using a scope to locate the source of the distortion, but not having readable CS15D schematics isn't helping things much.... :hmmm:

Also, at some stage in the near future, I want to retro-fit a Midi In socket on my CS15D too... :hmmm:
