Those factories look like my basement times 100 and with more robots, maybe I should get more robots.

I was impressed with the HiWatt video. They really do make amps like they used to.

I was surprised in the Mesa Boogie video, there's a guy wacking the chasis into place with the wooden handle of his hammer. Nothing like the rite tool for the job.

I think that this is test for "cold " solder joints.

Should I start doing this with my pedals? I've got a nice brick ...

Watching the Fender video with all the women wiring those things got me thinking ... they don't look like they're having the greatest time of their life soldering guitar amps together. So different than when I'm putting one together.

In these videos we can see how each of the manufacturers use different marketing strategies...

Marshall shows all its facilities to show how powerful they are, while only partly Fender reveals several employees rather dull, while assembled one of their models.

Hiwatt shows, on purpose, that there are very few people working calmly inside a huge industrial plant, to make us believe that the equipment is manufactured in a more traditional way than it really happens.

And in the case of Bogner, where the tour is done after normal working hours and using a funny hat, only serves to know where they make their amps, but not how they are manufactured.

Is just my opinion...

All of these videos all shown the high end amps these companies make, but what about the other 80% or so that are made in China? Im sure the facility looks a little different over there...

Not strictly amp builders, but I got a kick out of all the in-house testing. I was going to suggest watching the Death By Audio tour for a laugh, but it's no longer on the YouTubes.

I don't know if you mean the same video, but a DBA tour is part of (around the 39:45 mark, and in some other parts of the film)

Nah, I seem to remember a more general tour/interview, though it was of the same shack for sure. Or maybe I just imagined it.
Anyway, they seem pretty candid about their knowledge and means, so I guess it wouldn't be fair to make fun of them.

Just getting back to the boogie & hammer , I think they're very proud of that technique
that their amps are sooo well made they can take . I have a mkIII [ mine is a dog ] that has
metal hammer marks on the heatsink , can't say if they did it powered up or not .

Good observations about what they want , or don't care to show in the tours
