Boss NF-1 to SG-1 conversion

Postby ChristoMephisto » 05 Dec 2008, 22:31

Has anyone tried this mod?
The schems/layout are pretty similar and it would only take a few parts and cut tracks to make the Attack circuit.

Anyone?

Main site says
On 2010-12-27 GodiksenNet.com went back online using WordPress.
In a short time all schematics and articles will be back online.

Obviously something went wrong with the GodiksenNet site.

not alot is changed the biggest things is to lose the two 220k resistors going back to the first transistor and then a couple minor wiring re routes. could correct the schematic for conversion and color code it if someone wanted to tackle the board it might be my rez but the board is so blurry i can barely make it out. of course i ahve been up for a day so maybe that is it as well.

let me know if anyone is still interetsed in it

ok the box outlined in red i pretty much recommend to just remove and or reuse for the components. notice the two arrows in yellow cut traces to ground and use two wires to flip this.
change the 33k to a 47k tie it to the gate of q3

the caps in purple would probably just be better to mount on top of the board. connect points z together. change 2M pot to a 20k

lost the original one due to some crazy windows seven error this was a fast and dirty redo hope it helps

sweeeet. done and working. got a bit of distortion on the fatter strings. think I might have a couple electro's that need replacing. also noticed a few more difference between the schem's nothing major, just some value changes. Also, my NF1 was a different revison to the schem you used, so it took some head-scratching. will report back later :-)

Found some comps were already the same at the SG1 schem, yeah, no biggie...

Now you can go over to BYOC and look at some of the mods for the Lazy Sprocket

Resurrecting this old thread, I recently picked up a mid-80's NF-1 and am interested in doing this mod. Has anyone who's done this mod posted board pictures of the track cuts and component swaps?
