As result of placing an add on a "local" (countrywide) website asking for SAD1024's. One is ok, of you have more let me know.
45 SAD1024's
9 TDA1022s'
and some Panasonic stuff of which the MN3006 and the MN3002 are worth mentioning the most. I paid dearly for these so it cannot be called a bargain but still far less than the more than decent price Steve Daniels asks for his SAD's. The few I sampled in my MXR flange were OK.
and,
A thread is useless w.o. pics:
I'm a pretty happy guy for today, especially knowing that this:
10 x MN3006
09 x MN3009
11 x MN3101
07 x MN3102
08 x MN3207
06 x SAD512
03 x SAD1024
is heading my way too!!
OK, I'll stop braggin here

Yes, I was shocked too....
I always thought I have the most BBD´s.... but now I have to increase my stock of BBD´s to stay competitive...
The only thing what calms down my nerves a little bit is the fact that I have 4 MN3011 (beside my 15 SAD´s ands 20 TDA´s and some MN´s)... Yes and 1 SAD4096 too....

There´s a sucker born every minute - and too many of them end up in the bootweak pedal biz.

Please let us know your experiences with this purchase. May I assume we're talking hongkoksupperseller here? There's been quite some discussion on that matter over at Aron's place.
Yeah, the dollar rate. I know. It's good for us Europeans right now when buying. Still, any time I was on the edge of making a purchase there I was put off by the 'discounted" shipping prices of combined shipping.
BTW,
that others stuff came in too.... 6 SAD512's..... wow!

Yeah I read that too, but still ordered BBD's from HKSS too, despite the controversy. According to my calculation, half of them may be bad and I'll still have them cheaper than at SmallBear's. Again, no offense to Steve Daniels, but after making a price comparison chart of common transistors, ICs and some BBDs, I fell right off my chair.Dirk_Hendrik wrote:Please let us know your experiences with this purchase. i did not buy them from hongkong superseller. Is that the one selling the 3pdt switches by the 100's for about 300 euro's ? i bought them from a guitar store in hong kong.
will let you guys posted on how it goes. The shipment should have been send by now and it will take about a week to 2 week for it to arrive at my place.
greetings,
Thomas

It almost looks like a Sunn - but I'm not so sure about those knobs.

The Award guys are really helpfull and it's a pleasure having them on the phone (really! Very dry British Humor). However, no need to call em when needing schematics. They're here:Stuggi wrote:Oh man, I have the same bloody amp next to me, and I didn't even notice.
BTW, do you have the schematics for a Sessionette 75?

Wow, I was just browsing the Award site and found this:
http://www.award-session.com/award-sess ... sting.html
We don't have anything like that in America - you wouldn't believe some of the crazy dangerous equipment people use. The only time I've seen any mention of electrical safety laws around here is in factories, and the way a residence's mains are wired. But those are considered laws and codes electricians have to deal with, not something the everyday person really is aware of...
I imagine if all of us were required to have our amplifiers tested for electrical safety, then many of us would have to find new equipment.

Yep... I read that piece too.
There's another side to that story.
Just imagine that your stuff is up to date, safe, reliable etc.etc. And you still have to have it checked on a regular basis. Someone is shaking his moneymaker there and it's not you and me, the musicians.
That hurts. Having to pay while you are certain that your stuff is OK.
