Bass Wiring Help needed!!

Hello, I'm a newbie here.

I tried to rewire my bass to make it passive only using its Humbucker Pup with a B25k volume pot.

The humbacker has 4 colored wires (white, black, red, blue) and shield.

Here is what I did.
Red&Blue taped together, black and shield wires soldered to the Ground, white to #1 terminal of the Vol. pot
(I don't need the blend and coil split function).
Then from #2 terminal, the output wire is soldered to the Tip of the jack.
Also, 2 ground wires from the jack and bridge soldered together.

It doesn't work ....

could anyone teach me how to rewire

First, find out which colors belong to which coil (and what is begiining or end...)

Then, use a 500k pot, a 25k will never work in a passive circuit.

thanks for the tip.
I figured out the Red&Blue wires are the output wires.
right now, there are 2 B100k and 1 B25k pots at home.
Can I go with a B100k instead of a 500k?

Say goodbye to your higher frequencies... Try 250k, that should be fine for a passive bass. 500k would bring up even more highs...

Oh, may I add : take a log pot, ie. A250k (or A500k if you really want it), not a B one.

You should be able to use the 25k pot to wire everything up till you get the 500k. Just to make sure you have all the wiring right. Then when you get the 500k, you can just swap it for the 25k one, but at least you will have everything ironed out wiring-wise..

You didn't say where goes the 3rd terminal of the volume pot? Drawing the schematics of your wiring and posting it here can help enormously in debugging
