Forget that thing. It was the worst sounding, worst controllable and worst constructed thing I ever had under my feet. This thing did sound nothing like the demos known of a famous seller which very much youtube demos. This gadget has tremendous output so I'll guess what you hear ist nearly just the sound of an overdriven tube amp pushed by a dirty booster. Realy not worth the effort.

You made the pedal please post the PCB o wethever you have!!! THAYNKS!!!!scoop wrote:EDIT: solved the problem I had all the transistors upside down...
kinda interesting that it still made sound even despite.

I didnt use a pcb, try it out on breadboard first anyhow. the sound is not incredible but if you change cap values around it gets better. I ended up with this derivative circuit I'm pretty happy with.GodSaveMetal wrote:You made the pedal please post the PCB o wethever you have!!! Got this in the mail today and thought I would give this a shot. I know there is a love/hate relationship on this forum for DBA pedals but I am one that likes them and would love to get this thing traced and cloned for modding.
I used a iPhone 5 and hope they will do.
Transistors are 2N5089
Volume A100k
Overdrive B100k Duel Gain
Im working on the values of the caps and resistors. Anyone interested in helping.

can you get some pics of the dual gain pot or continuity tests?
Its 3 stages similar to the deluxe version (the different is the dual gain pot) see this thread:
https://www.freestompboxes.org/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=8495
so here is my guess..

A lot of their stuff is fucked up and weird....Design and production. I'm still wondering how these guys scored a high profile article in Guitar World??? I mean the're are 5 guys right off the top of my head that deserved it more and been around way longer.

bubstance wrote:Actually, check the first half of the dual-gang pot at the input. It looks like the signal comes out of the wiper, not what it looks like you have.
I just copied from the deluxe version and added the second half of the dual gain pot.. feel free to adjust the schem, the deluxe schem that is posted here has the transistors in the wrong way and a some wrong values, etc.. Again feel free to adjust and post the schem..

Oh, no hard feelings, mang.
Here's what I got after a quick look last night. The only real difference from the above is the 3.3k and 10k resistors have swapped places and the transistors have been flipped. Could be wrong, check it over, breadboard it, etc. etc. etc, blah blah blah. The volume pot wiring is a guess based on the usual way DBA does their thing; I doubt that it's going to change now.
