Pots are OK, it's just that I cannot check their value since the pedal is already on its way back to its owner This second example had a problem with footswitches - I had to replace those eight-pole double-throws with regular DPDT's.
Now that I've mentioned it, here's a drawing of how the original footswitches connect. It's not mine, but it works:

I can't say I've ever seen a footswitch wired like that before. But if it works, that's good enough. I also don't have any experience with authentic vintage pedals, either. But, I have plenty of experience with bad, or scratchy pots.
Education is 10% knowledge and 90% brainwashing. We're only told what they want us to know. The rest is fabrication in it's purest form.
Very useful information! ThanksRocket Roll wrote:So, here we have the fuzz part of the circuit (minus Volume and Fuzz pots and 10uF capacitor mounted on the Fuzz pot), and the schematic. I have modified the Cosmosound Distortion Whau Repeat schematic that you can find on the Effectsdatabase (http://files.effectsdatabase.com/docs/s ... ematic.gif). The values are mostly OK, but the author of that one had a different unit or made a mistake: R2 is 27K and R5 is 2K7 in the VOX, as all of the pictures clearly show.
I cannot check the potentiometers' value, but I expect no problems there.
So, not your typical silicone Fuzz Face, but a variant.
I've just fixed a Silversound SE-20 but resistor R5 seems to be 270 Ohm as factory value. I hope to have time to post some pictures and other information in the coming days.
I confirm the unusual switching wiring!!
