That 4shared site is a PITA though. :|

Christ! I had a Korg "Hard Dist" when I was about 18, perhaps the most repellant filth pedal I have ever tried before or since, with an utterly unusuable tone control that went from super-muffled to "aaaaghh, my cochlear has ripped open" in less than a degree of rotation. Cheap looking boxes, but actually really solidly built. Not sure what happened to it, in no hurry to build another...

A long time ago I even made the Overdrive and Hard Distortion clones.
Overdrive was much better but as far I remember the sound of the Hard Distortion could have been improved with a couple of mods.
Schematic shows that it is quite similar to Boss DS-1.

I merged this with an older thread on the subject, which immediately revealed these were published earlier, all links above are dead.
I am in the process of splitting out the pdf into pdf's per effect, to publish them in the correct thread.
So we don't we lose them again...

This thread led me to the board while searching for schematics for the CHR-1. Bought one cheap on ebay last year and it's a little scratchy at times and cuts my single WAY more than I would ever expect a Korg product to do, even a guitar one from the 80s. Guessing this will be my first attempt at a repair job, so very grateful to find this post! Thanks!

Now with any luck I would don't any further damage...haha!
