Sadly, I used to have one of those but didnt take pics. Thats excusable I guess, since I wasn't building pedals back then.

What I am figuring is if the potentiometers are 25k LINEAR as claimed or Logarithmic what would make more sense in the configuration used.

There´s a sucker born every minute - and too many of them end up in the bootweak pedal biz.

But only of the component side, not solder side...
Maybe I have higher resolution versions at home

The circuit board was a bit too large for the Fuzz Face enclosure. Notice how they had to trim a corner to make it fit in therepeps1 wrote:Used the issue 1 fuzz face screw holes as a scale reference, as I assume it the same enclosure.
Don't know if you realized it, but they kept changing the enclorsure. The different types differ mostly in the shape of the part that contains the jacks.
The red one on ebay is like the first type of Fuzz Face enclosure. This one is like the third type:
But here's an odd thing: All the Fuzz Faces with that kind of enclosure (most BC183 ones) are labled Dallas-Arbiter, not just Arbiter.
All the Fuzz Faces with the earlier, second type of enclosure (most are NKT275 ones) are labled Dallas-Arbiter as well.
Weird, huh?

EW, will you tell me more about enclosure issues? First type, third type... what's the differences?

Here's all four types in chronological order:
The first and fourth look very similar at first glance, but the edge at the bottom of the segment that contains the jacks is much sharper.
I haven't seen any Treble and Bass Faces in a second or forth style enclosure yet...

Very nice pics, must have been kept in a cryogenic chamber to look that good! I did try breadboarding this from the schemo in the other thread, but didn't get it to work - I feel inspired to have another go now!

Looking at the couple of later Arbiter catalogue pages I've found, the T and B face looks to have been dropped by 1970 - so quite possibly there are none in the 4th style enclosure. Certainly the circular 'lump' for a third pot has disappeared in the 4th style enclosure.Electric Warrior wrote: I haven't seen any Treble and Bass Faces in a second or forth style enclosure yet...

Right.
While they had two different castings for the first style of enclosure (one with, one without the lump), there was only one version for the second and third style.
Funny how all versions of the T&B Face seem to bear the Arbiter name.

I've recently moved to Canberra Aus & found one of these: the board is complete & all the original pots, jacks & foot switch are there.
But...
Someone has stirred off board wiring. I've found the great pics posted in this forum & was wondering if anyone had the off board wiring for this beast; it looks a bit odd. The board has a -ve grd to the case but it looks like the input jack switches the battery & the foot switch runs +9 to the board input when it's off line.
