Maybe somebody can explain me, why people spend more than $300,-- for a solder-jockey clone/derivate, when they can get the original reissue for only $99,-- ?:

Hey, it looks just like an original.
I'm sure they must have ruined something in the reissue to make it necessary to purchase someone else's "correct" one.
I wonder how it sounds? $99 is a good price for a pedal. Will it sound good on a bass? Or maybe that's asking too much. Ha!

Hmmm.... for $99,-- you always can tweak it to orignal or better sound.

but... here is another bargain, an original Roger Mayer Voodoo-1 for (less than) $100,--:

I can see dark clouds coming over the heads of solder jockeys ....

i recall seeing and hearing a GREAT video of the reisssue, i think the vid was made by musictoyz. not sure if it is still up.

i also have played a good working original unit, they are really crazy, nasty raspy heavy fuzz. somehow pretty versatile too. great value at 99 shipped

edit, i am referring to the fender blender.

Another possible bargains:

The "Fuzz-Reactor" is a matter of taste and not really 100% convincing:

but from the outfit I would prefer the "Bock auf Rock":

instead of the "BOR".

well, my Flender pedal http://www.ronsound.com/index.php?main_ ... ducts_id=3 was actually on the market just before the Blender reissue. I've looked in the reissue and it's just not correctly done. Wrong transistors and diodes for one thing. Plus, it just looks cheaply done (which it is). I use the correct parts and put it in a smaller box and I only charge $175.

Well, it sounds about the same as yours, so it obviously doesn't matter.

Plus, it's made in the USA and not in some overseas factory.

I broke one of the stomp switches on my reissue Fender Blender and now I don't remember how the wiring went. Can somebody please post or send me an image or a link etc. to a gutshot of the modern Fender Blender? All that I can find are for the old ones.

This reissue is actually much better than I expected. I never had the original but I have seen people panning the new one. However it gives me almost all of the fuzz that I want when coupled with an old Screaming Tree. Major buzzsaw! I need to get this pedal going again. Thanks!

That are not reissue guts, they are from an original unit.

below are guts from a reissue unit.

I suppose you charge $175 for a pedal you can get for $99 for the same reason you charge $8 for a schematic you can get here for free! :applause:

If you guys want me to leave, just say so.
I've defended my schematic sales many times and I don't feel the need to do so here. I've been generous with schematics here when someone's asked for them.

I don't want anyone to leave, schematics should be made available freely to all in my opinion.
Why don't you do a noble thing and have them on your site as direct links, meaning no longer charge for them... you would still make money from the pedal sales and people would think more highly of you for providing a free source of information?!?!?!

Pedal sales do not come in that often. Maybe 3 or 4 a month if that much. I'd dearly love to close down RonSound pedals/repairs and make the schematics free but I'm up to my ass in credit card debt and it's all I can do to stay just ahead of the game (it also doesn't help that I suffer from GAS). I've been in the schematic biz since the early 90's and back then I just had a 4 page catalog I distributed at guitar shows. It's a pocket change business and is not going to make me a rich man anytime soon. Unlike many people I spend a lot of time on them cleaning them up and making sure they're as legible as I can get them. People pay for them because I have them and they don't have to spend all day on the internet looking for it and still not find it.

There I go defending myself anyway.
:slap:

Can we just skip this and return to topic? I don't need this right now.
