It was probably not very smart to make it a BIN with that price...

I notice the Electra uses a dual gang to control the volume of both circuits simultaneously. The Companion has individual ones. The controls are consistent with the Superfuzz's and Univibe's except for the "tremolo" setting. What's up with that one I wonder.
The Superfuzz circuit is more along the lines of the fuzz section of the Companion Fuzz wahs with the .1 input cap instead of the usual 10uf.

I have been sitting on this little baby for many years now. I know Analog man descibes into a frenzy about this in his book.
I bought it perhaps simply because it is so unique and it's name is Psychedelic Machine. It was an expensive indulgence because of the age and good condition even at the time. They were marketed as "Honey" "Companion" and perhaps some other brands.
Hah, anyway it's really my only 'collector' piece other than an ancient Boss Flanger BF1. I like my circuits new and fresh!
I bring it out from time to time and fire it up to keep the electrons flowing.

It is really a Univibe clone with set stages and a nasty and harsh fuzz. It can pull some awesome swoopy sounds even at low volume and it is one that no matter what you intend, once you sit down to have a quick play, you will get up much later than you intend and smiling! Because I have it out of storage this week, if there is enough interest in cloning I will open her up if you ask nicely.

Here you can see Discofreq's pages on it http://filters.muziq.be/model/companion ... licmachine

It's pretty rare and looking at those prices... sheesh apparently valuable!

So... got this in for repair! Thought some of you would like to see inside.

It's a 240v one, here in Oz. I've got it going again, sure is fun! Am going to have to build one for myself...
I'll post some more info as I get around to it, but if you've got any questions, hit me up. :D
