I ordered the tonepad pcb's for this and now in the process of ordering the remaining parts. Can anyone recommend a capacitor type that is commonly used here? I see a lot of folks using the square box types but I haven't been able to locate those. They may not even be a good fit for this particular build.

Also, is it worth paying the high price for a NOS MN3007 chip or will the new production cheap ones work just as well?

Thanks
Rut

There are no new production MN3007's. Only original NOS ones and chinese counterfeits (that don't work)
Sorry. Plain out of planes.

The NTE1641 from Mouser works fine at $10.
The television will not be revolutionized.

wima box caps.
if not available where you live, order online.

if you build for use with bass, incorporate a fx blend control. works wonders for this build.

cheers,

wima box caps.
Do you use the polyester film or polypropylene film caps?

Also, does using tantalum caps really make any difference?

Thanks,
Rut

So do I.
My advice for anyone buying chips like these on the bay,
Verify them before leaving feedback.

In a recent case I bought 10 counterfeits. When contacting 3 other buyers (from the same seller) who left a positive thay had all not tried the chips yet...

Is there an easy way to verify they are NOS parts?
