Once again the same layout.
The differences are in the caps used.
Funny they all have the zero ohm resistor due to using the same layout.
The GCB95 has two open spots for parts used in the JH and other wahs.
All of this stuff has already been posted and really nothing new here.
There are few truly unique wah designs and one I have recently found should be showing up on the web any day now, if it's not already up.
One point I had noticed while comparing wahs with the input buffer versus without is that the sound seems somewhat fatter due to the buffer. It's probably a good idea to have one in there considering most run wahs first and have a bunch of true bypass pedals on their boards.
The telling tale is that the Budda runs $169 while the GCB-95 runs $50 for basically the same pedal. No doubt having to pay Dunlop for the build but the perceived quality difference is in the marketing hype.

I think it would be nice to replace the 10nF input cap with something other than that nasty little ceramic. I wonder why they used that there, but then used the decent film caps everyplace else?

on my vox v847 i remplaced all the capacitors with orange drops ones.
for a little bit fatness i putted a 22nF at the input instead of the 10nF.
then i remplaced the transistors with BC109 or 108 and some resistors too.
added a 100k Q pot, a 5 way sweep selector and added a power supply jack with it's filter.

My Budda circuit looks a bit different. I don't know much about what is what, so if someone would like to explain the discrepancy I would appreciate it.

Hello out there, I need a hand to complete the budda wah circuit.
I did trace back the budda wah, the newer version. When I did it I only have the wah for three days and some time later I implemented. Now I have it in my wah and I feel is not rolling off the treble like it suppose to do. So my question to the expert is: Is this circiut a buffer input or is something special for rolling off the treble (ice piercing treble).
Q1 in the original was KSP13, but I replace it with a MPSA13 NPN darlington transistor (I did try others like the 2N5172, for less gain). C1 and R15 are the input part (beginning) of a normal wah circuit, just C1 was replaced from 0.01 to 0.1. C11 was a ceramic cap and I did use a metal film, also I'm not so sure about the value, can anyone confirm it? !! shown is the extra part the the budda has in it, the rest is just the typical wah circuit.

are you measuring it in circuit or out. in will make it read less due to the fact it is parallel with the inductor which also has resistancerws wrote:I have always thought the sweep on my Budda Wah was more like a switch. Just took some component measurements and my R5 is measuring 36.6 ohms, although that is not what the markings would indicate. Am I going crazy here?

slightly off topic have any of you ever had that i got to drill holes in my wah pedal moment so i can have pots for everything. i did the other night. now i have a 1k pot on the emitter of the first transistor. a 5 k pot for the feedback resistor. 100k pot in series with the 33k on the inductor. added a 47 ohm resistor in series with the inductor ala bad horsie wah. changed the first transistor. did the fat wah mod. lowered the 68k to 47k. and added a switchable ledldr combo so that now in switch mode it is an auto wah with the speed set via the pedal. osc is based around a 555 freq gen driving an led into a 330ohm resistor to limit the current on it. super mad and crazy. still working on the footswitchable changes between stock and crazy mode this thing will self oscilate and thats fun!!!

Here is mine...not sure when it was made. It's got too much boost, any recommendations on what to mod on it for slightly lower output would be appreciated. I've had bad luck with modding wahs in the past so and i'd rather not hack it up too much. (they seem so simple yet I can't seem to build one I like for some reason)
