Hey,
I've had a maestro siren surf wah pedal I got given to me a while ago which I repaired by comparing the wiring to a similar pedal.
But something never sounded quite right in the wah section and it sat there sadly.
The schematic posted cleared up some wiring messed up on.
Thanks for the post, the pedal sounds quite nice now.

The wah-surf-wind-siren pedal has been sold under a number of different brand names. I had an HA-9P by Honey from around 1968 that I sold. True vintage effects pedal. The siren was so cheesey it was almost comical, but the surf and "tornado" functions were very cool. A Cry Baby or Vox sound much better for a wah-wah, however.
Here's some more info on these pedals:

So has anybody out there tried to clone one of these yet? I'm tempted to try, myself. I'd bid on one on Ebay, but the auctions on these always finish pretty high $$. I tried out one of this type (not sure which brand it was called) at a Long & McQuade garage sale back in 1976. Sounded incredible! Every cool whitenoise/pinknoise sound effect you'd ever heard on early Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath albums and the like. The Surf and Tornado sounds were the best. Sadly, didn't have the cash for it back then. (being a high school student at the time) Would definitely like to give cloning this thing a go.

I just have one.
Cannot subscribe to the mythical mojo around the thing. In the end it's just a cheap japanese wah.

Well... A cheap wah with noise generator and oscillator... Hmm. If you put an oscillo-fuzz
https://www.freestompboxes.org/viewtopic ... =20#p92824
in a wah and add another(!) switch for a noise generator, that would be close enough.

Well, hey, it's not like I would want to pay more than $50. for one in an ebay auction or anything. It's not about 'mojo'. I don't subscribe to that with pedals, at all. I consider all effects pedals to be mostly novelty. Cheap lipstick-pickups (modern $15 clones - not 'vintage') going into almost any clone of a Marshall 18-watt is all the mojo required. I almost never use any effects, except for the odd bit of novelty.Dirk_Hendrik wrote:I just have one.

I have a companion version of this (big pedal version with the treadle and the knobs next to each other) and after an ELCO change and adding a DC jack it is quite workable.
I LOVE the wah wah on this pedal. It is just so FAT; dunno why but I like it more then the Vox and Crybabies I used
