Eagle Trace size

I have been using 32 as a trace size after good advice from madbean.
I wonder though, it does seem small compared to some commercial sized traces? Do I gain or lose anything by going to 40 lets say? It seems it might be easier for me at least when I uv transfer and etch.
More or less thinking out loud here.
Happy thanksgiving (day early)

Information
In many manufactured boards, it's pretty common to see a trace width of 16. Much easier to get away with that when a machine is doing it. I don't think you gain anything by going up to 40...I usually do 24 for everything. However, I remember reading somewhere that having your power rails larger (9v, Vb) brings some advantage, although I don't remember why.
