Apologies in advance if I have posted this in the wrong section, I didn't think of it as a request as I have some pictures to share, albeit not great ones!
Really like this sound of this pedal and am hoping to build my own one, other forums have suggested a similarity to the DAM Sonic Titan or ROG Grace/Big Daddy due to the LM386 usage but it doesn't look quite the same as there are two of 'em? I'm no expert on these things so thought I would pass along to other more savvy people! There is...
Hi
Let's try to trace this
This pedal came on a mini mini bomb, which was based on a single JFET transistor
The mini bomb schemaешс is presented below
Sch.png
Inside the pedal there are 3 transistors, one in conjunction with a diode (similar to SHO)
As well 2 transistors in a pair (something similar to mu-amp)
In the Ruby Red & Kilt pedals, a new booster is also being used (which is similar to the components with the Prestige stuffing).
JHS describes this as a 2-stage booster.
Guts
GMD has something called the Wave cannon on the board.
I like the look of it. Very retro 50's style graphics. My total non-expert look at it, feels like a Fuzz factory style arrangement. 4 knobs with much oscillation. Check it out and report back....I m curious.
Hey Guys,
I said I'd upload some gut shots I've collected. To start here is one of the Sound Shank, a custom pedal by Earthquaker devices. 3 AC 125 transistors.
I'm working on VERO layouts for the Blade VSC preamp and I'm also trying to create one for only the Mid-boost part of the preamp which I think is very nice!
Since I'm a beginner I'm learning as I'm going, working with bread board layouts and schematics and trying to create veroboard layouts from there.
It would be great if I could get some help with the layouts I'm creating!
The schematic for the Blade VSC preamp:
I've created this vero layout for it. I've verified the mid-boost part for...
First post from this long time lurker. I've had this bass distortion pedal for many years, but I still haven't seen anyone checking out its circuit, so I decided to try. It's handmade in Norway by the small pedal builder OnkartGromt. Info:
Getting the PCB out of the enclosure was quite a challenge, at least without de-soldering the DC input and the two mini-switches. But I wrestled it out and took decent pictures of both sides. Figured out the circuit, whose design is far from a typical TS...
I had a Seymour Duncan SFX-04 Twin Tube Mayhem for repair, and the owner let me trace the pedal.
I didn't include the Power section, because I think it is the same from the SFX-03. Except for the power section of the ICs which is powered by regulated +/-12v.
I believe I traced the circuit properly, but feel free to recheck if you have the same unit with you.
Edit:
I forgot to include the path of the heater. +12v connected to pin six of V2, pin 3 of...
I got one of these off ebay a few years back. I loved it but got rid of it when I stopped using it after a while. I figured I would just build my own.
I photographed the guts just in case I needed reference but when I eventually built my own I could not find the photos anywhere. I remember it had the silver mods. I think that was just replacing the tant caps for Panasonic electros?
The one setting I really liked was the + setting. From Mike's site:
Hello everybody, here are some photos of the Eclipse, i desoldered some components to expose traces, I will post part values and components in the following days.
I will also post my schematic when I will have time to trace, but if somebody wants to start the photos provided should be enough for the purpose.
Missing ICs in the photos are CD4053
I'm seeking for this pedal since a while. I only know it's a relative of the Roland AF100 BeeBaa (fuzz only, without the booster).
I was able to find a gut shot on reverb, and by roughly comparing it with a regular Roland BeeBaa schematic, I came to the conclusion that it shall be something like this.
PCB is double sided, so I can 't properly tell all the connections.
What do you think?
Great sound, obviously the circuit has been modded.
Here's what KMA say:
We refined the circuit to get an old school sound with a modern Twist. First of all we brought back the low end and added a bias control to explore new capabilities of the forgotten pedal. The essential SKIN/MEAT knob controls the bias of the circuit. You can dial in a sharp skinny fuzzy tone or a thick and meaty wall of furry.
Here's what I can figure out so far:
Q1 2N222 metal can
Four 1N4148 clipping diodes...
Just came across a clip of this and I like what I hear. It's silicon and Bender-ish and that's about all I could find. Enclosed are two gut shots, sadly without visible what transistors are used and no shots of the trace side.
you can see more gut shots at 1:34-1:45 and 2:23-2:31 min
with several gut shots. The most important one (the PCB) is in view from 1:40-1:58 min.
I recently got a LAL Green Monster, a super rare fuzz and long discontinued pedal by LAL.
Since I opened it to clean it a bit, I decided to take also some gut pictures.
Some notes to the pictures:
True bypass 3PDT footswitch
Pots: Vol 10kB, Sens1 10kB, Sens2 10kB, Sens3 50kB
Wiring: Green GND, Yellow OUT, White IN, Red +9VDC
Opamps are both UA741CP, and there are only 2 components which maybe are a bit tricky to track.
These look like 2 diodes: the black one in the middle of the board (I...
as high gain pedals that sound pretty 'amp-like' go, this is a better than average example. Anyone have any ideas what this circuit is? Of course, it's gooped, but I find it interesting that its a relatively small area that the goop obscures. In the promo video on the Emma website for this pedal, you can briefly see one getting assembled, and it appears to a really low parts count... a few SMD components and it looks like a single 8 pin DIP ic and a single can style transistor or similar...
Typical nice build quality from Barber. Sounds very nice.
Here's the Barber marketing copy:
The Trifecta’s classic three fuzz circuits are based off of the triangle style pi sound, the Jumbo Bender style and the Suppa Bender style with our boutique mods/magic and superior build quality.
I had never looked at the Jumbo or Suppa schematics before, but after checking them out, it makes sense. The Muff, and those two Bender circuits have an awful lot in common.
Seljetnoma kindly sent me some detailed photos of his Rockett Blue Note OD (thanks Frank), and I traced it with his help.
Looks like it's the same board and circuit as the Rockett Animal, with different component values, so someone might like to work out those values from the pic in the other thread and we can solve that one also.
If someone does it and wants to send me the values I can easily update this schemo to the new values, and post it in the other thread.
I like the sound of this one, sorry about the crappy pics.
I can try to take better ones when i get the time.
Forgot to take pics on the potz boards other side...
Looks like charge pump, relay switching, 3 smd jfets, two 5k trimpots for the jfets.
