Now on ebay for § 2,990,-- :!: :!: :!: , a light activated Roger Mayer Octavia, here are the guts:
The seller claims:
I BELIEVE MAYER DEVELOPED THE SWITCH BECAUSE JIMI HAD A HEAVY FOOT AND WOULD BREAK THEM.
boaaahhh.....poor jimi, will turn around in his tomb.
This pedal never has met jimi, sorry....also not a brother or sister of it, cause the electronics is from the late 70´s or early 80´s....the compete...
Anyone taken a look at this? I recently saw a gut shot that was blurred out because the circuit is so simple. Id be interested in trying to whip one up.
Here's the innards of this pricey wah here, currently the wah of the week for well helled cork sniffers.
The layout looks like the one at Fuzzcentral for the Clyde. These seem to sell for $400+, not sure of the new price.
The VARIDRIVE is a genuine 12AX7 vacuum tube-based overdrive pedal. The circuit is Class A and the tube component is fully utilized to create the overdrive / distortion effect without other circuitry addendums in either hybrid or solid state form; i.e. pure tube only.
“AUDIOPHILE quality”. As reviewed in “Guitar Player”, SIB! tube pedals remain a full cut above other pedals in this category due to their advanced, very clean circuitry....
No $hit, I'm tracing the Om Labs Sahasrara OD made in Singapore. Pretty versitile w/ HB's & single coils. Q1 & Q2 only have the marks-C550C on 'em. Any body have a possible idea what these are? They are onboard w/ 2 Ge diodes, 2 Si diodes & an IC NE5532P . Layout/schema soon come, mon meh feh nyah cyan rush it I. Best of luck moving the sacred treasure that is freestompboxes.org!! PS: Bajaman, I've got the Blackstone on deck for the next raping & pillaging with verve...
Help me - i am suffering withdrawal symptoms already - thanks for the Hendrix fuzz AG
BJ - Do you remember I was telling you about my experiences running a Guvnor into a Peach Fuzz :?:
I discovered that the TL022 suggested by MoreCowBell is the wrong chip - the different sound obtained by using a TLC22 62 has to be heard to be believed. With the TL022, I found the midrange lacking - lots of bottom end and high sizzle. This is why I liked the midrange sound of the Guvnor as a preboost...
hi folks,
do you got too too problems when using a fuzz factory after a buffer??
i don't know but alway when i use those fuzz face based devices i got always problems when putting before then buffer....
Pasted some links to the great moosapotamus website before, but want to remind everybody that the schematic for the Dirty Bird is online here:
PCB expressfiles seem to be down though, but that's ok, and fair. If it doesn't sell, will that be because of the asking price or the honest link to the schematic... we will see.
Is this company known to anyone? A search here didn't turn up anything.
There's a post at Shortscale that claims: A quick googling revealed pictures of the insides, which I recognized as being the BYOC/EA tremolo. Since I could get the Retro box for 50 and the BYOC was 65 unassembled, I decided to go for it. Auction won, money paypaled. A week passes with no pedal or e-mail, so I get worried. I google some more - turns out the guy runs 3 different companies (Private Label, Erotic FX, and Retro...
I asked mr. Cusack how it works he told me latching relays. The button when pressed reverses the polarity going to it. My question to you guys I'd how do I make a circuit to reverse the polarity? Is a veroboard version too much to ask for? :) sorry I'm such a noob. My guess is some sort of
flip flop.
No sure where to post this, but this is where I've been lurking for some time now.
I put together MarkM's Klon Booster over the wknd and got it all wired up properly yesterday (hate bein' the noob, but love learning!!
Overall, I can't say I love it. The boost w/ the gain turned down made my SD JB/59 loaded guitar's tone darker and muddier. Once you introduce the gain, there's some useable tones w/ the bridge pup. But overall, it's not a clear signal or one that did anything all that great. \...
Looks like yet another TS clone with stock values. Has a pair of 914s and an LED for asymetrical clipping. The boost switch is just a gain cut resistor. He added another dual opamp (only using half) and some germ transistors for tone shaping.
Looking at the other side of the board it seems only 2 leads on each transitor are being used - any input?
I don't know if this is a well known fact or not, but I just saw some gutshots of this pedal.... it's literally a BYOC delay! It's built on a BYOC board and everything!
