yeah they take (seemingly) forever, but their prices are unbeatable. I haven't had a bad experience. Though when that shit arrives I don't really remember what I ordererd, or what I wanted to build with it

I have no complaints about tayda. Better pedal parts selection than futurlec and faster shipping.

Off topic, has anyone tried the 1n34a yet, are they real?

I love that they do coupon codes, but I hate that they only post them to Facebook. I, along with millions of other people, have no desire even to visit Facebook, let alone sign up with them. They used to send them through email.

So.... for those of us who don't do the Facebook thing, I figured out how to get Tayda's updates via RSS:

I've bought 1n60p from them before and this time i ordered some 1n34, they both don't look like the glass germanium diodes that i've found on SB, aside from that they do mark 0,3 v when tested. Soundwise i haven't made a comparison to check for differences...i hope this helps.

Will have to look for the thread later, but I just read a whole thingabout how the odd looking 1N34a from Tayda are not germanium, they are Si work-a-like for the older germ 1N34a

The do-7 package 1n34 they carry now should be glass according to the data sheet. I ordered a two of them to see. I'll know in a couple of weeks.

same here. 1n60p is not germanium I think, but sounds fine.
I have had only good transactions with them. Have ordered up to $280 and no customs charges. I have also ordered one lone pot from their ebay store with no hitches and good shipping times. Fastest overseas shipping I have ever seen.

so..l ordered (pots, opamps, sockets) 20120718, arrived 20120727... 2 weeks is about average so 9 days is fine by me.. not the fastest they've been but still well faster than many ebay purchases I make.

Only this way (for files) will have all January firsts together and so on. Quite annoying, but I can't convince my wife to do otherwise--she thinks my way is complicated...

Just got in some 1n34a from Tayda and another supplier I saw on E-bay called Yoyo.
After posting my positive comments about Tayda on this thread I saw the posts about these diodes being odd so......... I ordered an option off the bay just in case.
As to the long shipping times, I expect it from China but Tayda seems slooooow compared to others.
The Yoyo brand came from the UK and arrived within a day of the Taydas. Which were ordered a week earlier.
The Tayda ones are very different from any I've seen before.
Tayda on left and Yoyo on right. The Yoyo Part # is 681325.

Hope this sheds some light.

The Tayda one does look weird. The Joyo looks like the 1N270s I got from Small Bear, which concurs to their being legit Germs.

largest/2nd largest/3rd largest .. etc. etc.

and.. as I said... works good for file naming conventions cos then alphabetical=chronological yyyymmddMMSS etc... if you name it your way then a file listed that was made in january 2011 will come before one in february 2012 :blackeye
