Hello guys,
We are working on designing and building a chorus pedal. We are finalising our PCB pedal, and we are looking into the enclosure.
We have little idea on how to deal with the enclosure so if anyone could help us that would be wonderful!
Some key questions we have are:
-Which companies manufacture a pedal enclosure?
-Can they be tailored enclosures? or they have to be relatively standard?
- Is the manufacturing process something we should look into?
- Any idea of the cost?
Thanks in advance

Die cast boxes are the usual enclosure, lots of companies manufacture them.lux0055 wrote:-Which companies manufacture a pedal enclosure?
If you pay enough you can have whatever you want, if you are looking for affordability use standard sized die cast boxes.-Can they be tailored enclosures? or they have to be relatively standard?
Only if you are mass producing- Is the manufacturing process something we should look into?
Google or look on Ebay for 1590A, 1590B, 1590BB, "Die cast box, "Project box", etc.- Any idea of the cost?
Standard enclosures are the best way to go unless you are mass producing pedals when you can design your own without them being prohibitively expensive.
It is normal to consider the enclosure before laying out the PCB and design a PCB that fits in a standard enclosure with the connections in sensible places or better still (IMO, YMMV) have pots, switches and jacks board mounted to save on external wiring.
A current trend is for small pedals, not everyone wants a huge pedal on their pedal board. This is something to consider when designing a pedal.
