The short answer is a flashing yes! We usually prefer a combo led + ldr because it is cheaper them its rich cousin and there is no considerable tone differences IN A EASYVIBE. Optocouplers NSL32 are led/ldr combos but they are "matched", they have closer characteristics if you compare an NSL32 with other NSL32.
