Dumbloid

Hi Guys

Sorry to bother you all. But I am looking at a way to pass the hat around so the Dumbloid can be traced. There are a few of us from the Gear page who are curious to see where the origin lies from...

Let me know what I have to do to get this over the line.

Kind regards

Matt

Figure out how many of us it will take at how much to buy one to play with, who can do this thing, and I'm in. :applause:

I'm in. We need to possibly create a pledge system. Then deposit the money in someone's paypal acct when we hit 600.

There used to be this thing called "The Tracer's Fund" for exactly what you guys are talking about: Pooling cash to buy pedals that are very expensive...and then reverse engineering the circuit.

Maybe you guys can get some interest in getting that going again.

My money is on the Dumbloid being very similar to the Zen Drive. It wouldn't be the first near-Zen to be sold as a new thing.

But if you want to get the FSB crowd involved, you need to start with price and pics. Price is about $600.

Here are a few pics I saw over at TGP:

Looks like a piece of Radio Shack IC prototyping board:

count me in for $50

It looks like we already have a half dozen guys at $50 which is half way there. Lets get this going with another 6 we will be there. Surely the tracer could recover funds for his time and if we sold it assuming it still functions after degooping he could get 1/2 for his efforts and we could recoup a few sheckles for our investment

Soooo tell me if this is out to lunch.

Call me whatever, but I would like to end up with one of these (having sold mine) I know it to be an awesome sounding pedal.

I'm in for $50-100 - or a bit more if I can end up with one - but how do we end up with one of these? Have to make it worth it to whoever can do the work on this to also build us a few.

Isn't that kinda the point of it all? :slap: The contributors ending up with one? I want more than just to be able to say "Told you so" - cuz I didn't - LOL

And just a circuit diagram is worthless to me cuz I don't know how to make that make music.

I'm with you bloomz. My support comes with the caveat that I'd like one of the pedals. I think whomever we send this to should agree to producing some for the supporters. I think I could make one with the schematic and a parts list, but would rather have someone with more experience bulls me one.

I have one I'll gladly pass along for de-gooping. $525 gets it. This thing is way to good not to get on the market for a reasonable price.

I think we need to nominate someone to oversee and handle the finances and get this pedal into the hands of someone who can degoop it and trace it . I am sure there is someone who can trace it and produce at the least loaded boards or kits or ultimately complete units.
