Hi. I think this post could be considered one that would fit to more than one category here. But i got guts. So here you go.

A friend called me up and told that his dual blue delay had died. I said i can take a look. Mainly because i thought the pedal would be derived from the original Deep Blue. Symptoms were that mode LED blinks once quickly, once the power is connected and nothing else happens. I opened it up and to my surprise, this has very little to do with the Deep Blue. Here we have a Cypress PSOC 4200 series SoC, model number CY8C4245AX1 which is a 32-bit 48MHz ARM Cortex-M0 CPU (SoC family datasheet: https://www.cypress.com/file/138656/download ). This seems to control everyhting with its integrated code. The main attraction which it controls, is the Spin FV-1. This did surprise me a bit.

Since i'm more of a lumberjack when it comes to electronics, all i could do was to check the voltages against the datasheet for both, the SoC and the FV-1. These and the regulator voltages seem within the tolerances, so i don't have a clue what's wrong with it. Corrupted or internally damaged SRAM? No idea.

Anyway, here's crappy photos from both sides of the main board. The ribbon cable goes to the in/out jack aux board, that has little of interest in there. I have this for a few days now and if someone wants, i can take more crappy photos. However. It is an ARM SoC + FV-1 pedal on a multilayer PCB, so not sure why anyone would want any...
