Analogman - King of Tone [traced]
Sorry guys, didn't want to hijack the thread, let's get back to KOT please!
BTW: I don't know how his JTM45 is modded, I just know it was modded and didn't sound good to me, but you must count I'm more into Fender amps AND I was listening to great Fender-like tone just before the JTM came in (with the same player, same pedals and all). Keep in mind the cabinet may also be the bad guy there, dunno, I presume there were a pair of Weber spkrs into a lame cab...
(EDIT: I know the close relation between a tweed era Bassman and a JTM45, but that Marshall really sounded VERY Marshally, maybe the mods, the reissue, poor speakers (no lows), dunno... Nothing resembled Leo's stuff there.)
Anyway, I just wanted to remind that things don't have to sound good, for most people the hype makes anything sound good and better than anything else. No mojo there, no special tricks, no rare components, no big marketing, just old hype, "smart talk", BS or just name it.
I suppose it's just Jim's time and I'll have to wait for Leo's revenge!

Thanks for being transparent Mike - not like some of the others - e.g. Chas Johnston (Mike Fuller).
So far only you and Geoffrey Teese are willing to participate on this forum using your real names. You both have respect from many of us here.
Cheers

used their correct name or proper identification. Björn Juhl, Paul C, Devi Ever, Brian Marshall, Himmelstrutz (Fetto) and Skreddy to mention a few.

Ahum! Back on topic now.
Everybody had their say and additional mud slinging will have to take place in the Big Catfight thread[/url]. As usual... if you don't find your message here, check the above thread.

Is there still this Analog Man vs Keeley grade school name calling bullshit going on? How weak is that. Two guys who mod pedals arguing like little boys.
Why would Keeley feel the need to copy the KOT? It no secret what the circuit really is Mike. I made my own and call it the King of Clone. It's a nice sounding modded Blues Breaker. I'm sure Keeley has better things to do than copy your stuff. If you are really worried about it, maybe you could ramp up production a little and get more out on the street? Or would you rather keep up high demand?

Just finished mine! And I really love it! Called it the King of Spades!
I decided to leave the trimpot outside, as well as the other 2 diodes switchers, so it's a 4 knober 2 togler pedal!
I didn't have any fancy diodes so I sticked to the old 4148s, when I find the propper ones I'm sure gona give it a try!
So, good on Analog Man, very nice pedal!
I drilled the box, painted it, designed and etched the pcb, soldered everything together, debuged it (didn't fire the first time ) and got it rocking, all in 2 days!!
Ok, I'm on hollidays, but seriously Mike, one men op, one box, 2 days.
How many KOTs do you and your team roll off each day (can be a monthly average, coz I know there must be KOT days, Sun Face days, Beano days and everything else!). Just out of curiosity really!

Thanks for reporting on your build, snail! With all the shit that going on we would forget to that this is a completed project already.snail wrote:Just finished mine! And I really love it! Called it the King of Spades!
