I saw those Davies knobs there too! They look much better than their normal knobs but I've seen people make those work..
They also stocked a whole lot of box film caps at a nice price. I'm curious to see the quality of the 1/4'' jacks they just added.

are they most similar to those switchcraft? i mean their nuts are solid. the jacks available here arent that solid.. after a year or so they tend to loose sometimes.Seiche wrote:yeah they're alright. there might be better for the price though.quaternotetriplet wrote:anyone tried their jacks? seems solid in the pics.

i can't tell, I used them for a build about 1-2 weeks ago. time will tell.quaternotetriplet wrote:are they most similar to those switchcraft? i mean their nuts are solid. the jacks available here arent that solid.. after a year or so they tend to loose sometimes.Seiche wrote:yeah they're alright. there might be better for the price though.quaternotetriplet wrote:anyone tried their jacks? seems solid in the pics.
i prefer those though, if that's an option. they're cheaper too.

Information
I like Tayda for most things.
But man, I got some bad 5v regulators from them. Bought about 30, and every damn one of them was wonky. And I kept thinking I was screwing up my 2399 builds.

I don't know if they're neutrik (originally), they look like the more expensive switchcraft and work like a charm.quaternotetriplet wrote:neutrik ones? yeah their tough man.

I have a ones from tayda and no really sucessfull PT2399 builds , what was the problem? Dodgy voltages ?culturejam wrote:But man, I got some bad 5v regulators from them. Bought about 30, and every damn one of them was wonky. And I kept thinking I was screwing up my 2399 builds.

check the voltage that's coming out of the regulator with a DMM. if it's above 5v they are bad.marmaliser wrote:I have a ones from tayda and no really sucessfull PT2399 builds , what was the problem? I had a problem with my last delivery from Tayda:
The bill wasn't placed at the outside of the parcel.
Because of that, I had to print out the complete order and the paypal bill, had to drive to the customs authorities (at the other end of the town...), and wait there for 90 minutes until I got the parcel.

I liked the jacks too... I should have ordered more
My order was filled and shipped a lot faster than futerlec
and the 1/4 jacks are much better quality. I also bought a
few of those 5v reg but I haven't used any yet. I found a
few old ones from Mouser I had in the wrong bin.

They put out 5v when under no load. But when you hook it up to the 2399, the voltage drops to about 3v. I think the ones I have (or had) somehow couldn't provide the current demand at 5v.marmaliser wrote:I have a ones from tayda and no really sucessfull PT2399 builds , what was the problem? As soon as I swapped out to the regulators I got from Mammoth, the circuit fires right up.
And yes, I checked and double-checked the pinout on the Tayda regulators.

i wish they had v3205 and NE570s that i need for the dirtbag delay. Sourcing them is kind of a bitch. Banzai has them, but they want 6 € shipping for 3 ICs
anyone know any other sources in europe?

Not much luck with the V3205 in Europe, I bought mine for my Dirtbag from Banzai (with a much bigger order, so shipping wasn't so bad). I picked up a NE570 off of ebay for the same build for a couple of bucks shipped (haven't installed it yet, but they aren't fakes, seller is allpartspipe2008, and I have bought from them before with good success), but with all the bogus 3005/3205 out there, wasn't going to risk it

i guess i'll just go to the banzai warehouse and pick it up myself or order something else from them.
