Do people still give a crap? Even the best demo from Pete Thorn makes it sound mediocre.

But it's just an OCD clone
Traced a Dumbloid Standard (without jazz/rock switch), and it's basically a slightly modded Clay Jones Overdrive (which is a modded Tube Screamer). So in fact, it's just YATS!
Schematic is not verified, but I think that's it. Regarding the photos posted earlier in this thread of the Dumbloid Special, I guess the jazz/rock switch is just a switched cap after R16 to ground (lp filter).
I tried 47-100nF, and that sounded promising. Have fun with your modded TS!

Thanks Eisy, I think that covers it
Note: Layout updated. I have moved things around a bit to get rid of one of the 3-row-span resistors and for better use of space around the left hand side of the board. There has been no other alterations and both versions posted are a circuit match so don't worry if you already started building the first version posted

now, lets start bitchin
only 1 diode in the feedback loop?
So its half op-amp clipping then? Yuck.

Looking at blown up shots, I'm wondering if the "Rock/Jazz" cap isn't actually going from E of Q2, switched to ground. The wire from the switch to ground is obvious enough, but looking at the proximity of the cap to Q2E, and R18, what do you think?Eisy wrote: Schematic is not verified, but I think that's it. Built the Mark's layout above today, so consider it verified. It's not bad sounding OD at all. Resemblence to TS is minimal. I'd say it sounds like a mash of TS, SD-1 and Hotcake. But the price.. Seems like i'm charging way too little for my builds...
I must admit that my board looks better than the original...
